Well, kind of.

I admit I’ve been out of the loop on recent casting news. So imagine my surprise — and delight! — to see that we’re getting not one, but three members of the gang from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia guest starring in two of FOX’s Tuesday night staples  in September!

First, Rob McElhenny has a spot on The Mindy Project as Morgan’s (Ike Barinholtz) cousin Lou in the season premiere tonight at 9:30pm. Look familiar to you?

Then two weeks later on September 30, Glenn Howerton reprises his role as lawyer (and past love interest) Cliff. Mindy asks Cliff for help with her taxes — how is that going to work out with new love interest Danny (Chris Messina)?

Meanwhile, Kaitlin Olson visits New Girl on September 30 at 9pm as Jess’s father’s (Rob Reiner) new girlfriend. Talk about awkward!

NEW GIRL: Jess' (Zooey Deschanel, second from L) dad (guest star Rob Reiner, second from R) arrives with his new girlfried (guest star Kaitlin Olson, R) in the "Julie Beckman's Older Sister" episode of NEW GIRL airing Tuesday, Sept. 30 (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT) on FOX. THE MINDY PROJECT: Danny's mother, Annette (guest star Rhea Pearlman, L) gets upset when Danny (Chris Messina, R) gives her an extravagant birthday present in the "Annette Castellano Is My Nemesis" episode of THE MINDY PROJECT airing Tuesday, Sept. 23 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Are you excited about the gang expanding their horizons beyond Philadelphia? I’ll be tuning in, that’s for sure!

(Hey, even Cricket has had a guest spot on Bones.)

Nels
Nels knew how to operate a TV remote control before she knew how to talk. As a result, she has spent an inordinate amount of time pretending she actually lives on a soundstage. When she isn’t watching whichever show is currently capturing her heart, she is writing about how said show is currently capturing her heart. She loves pie.

Fall 2014: What We’re Watching!

It’s hard to believe it, but the 2014-15 TV season is nearly upon us! We here at TYLL thought this would be a great time to talk about what we’re most looking forward to this fall. Join Nels, Cassidy and Lucie as we discuss what we’re tuning into in a few weeks.

Lucie closes out our series with her PVR-worthy picks for this fall! Expect lots of murder and mayhem with a dash of sass. (As if you hadn’t gotten enough of that from Nels and Cassidy‘s picks earlier this week.)

Lucie
Lucie was a classic 80/90s kid that grew up with the television as a babysitter. As she’s begrudgingly becomes an adult, she sadly can no longer enjoy television as mindless entertainment and subconsciously starts analyzing shows, specifically in the context of race and gender. She enjoys police procedural, strong female leads, and political dramas. She’s sarcastic and snarks a lot which may be mistaken for bashing, but it’s not…usually. She longs for the days where she can just watch TV and not parse it for subtext.

Weekly Roundup May 3-May 9

Weekly Roundup

In today’s edition –  a day late and a dollar short – we check on Veep and the two FOX comedies that ended their seasons this week, have quite a lot of feelings on The Amazing Race and can’t really give a good roundup on either finale dates or events because there’s too much going on.

… is a young graduate student that has been way too passionate about television ever since she was little. While she insists she doesn’t have a specific type of show, they all usually have strong but flawed lady characters, some derivation of the stubborn friends-in-love/friends-to-lovers trope, and they all make her yell at her tv a lot. She just wishes she had more hours in the day so she could actually write about this.
