Everybody’s working for Labor Day!

Remember what we said about new content over the summer? Er, sorry about that. But we’re back now, and ready to have fun!

Happy Labor Day, Everyone!

As summer unofficially comes to an end on this holiday weekend, we have cause the celebrate — because that means the fall TV season is just around the corner!

To ease our way out of barbecues and reruns, and back into commutes and must-see TV, we here at TYLL want to take a look at some of our favorite fictional workplaces in recent years. (We are honoring workers today, after all.)

Grab your briefcases and to-go cups, because going back to work never seemed so fun. Be sure to let us know what your favorite offices are in the comments!

Thank You Liz Lemon Team
We’re a couple of girls who really love TV, and we’re okay with that.

GREY’S ANATOMY: The Calzona Diaries 11×01

JESSICA CAPSHAW, SARA RAMIREZ

In an attempt to kick my horrible writer’s block, I bring you the first entry of  “The Calzona Diaries”, a feature that will essentially recap Grey’s Anatomy episodes, focused solely on Callie, Arizona and their storylines. Even though I may deny it, who am I kidding – I’m only watching because of them. Reader discretion is advised. If you do not like snark, you may want to skip these.

Lucie
Lucie was a classic 80/90s kid that grew up with the television as a babysitter. As she’s begrudgingly becomes an adult, she sadly can no longer enjoy television as mindless entertainment and subconsciously starts analyzing shows, specifically in the context of race and gender. She enjoys police procedural, strong female leads, and political dramas. She’s sarcastic and snarks a lot which may be mistaken for bashing, but it’s not…usually. She longs for the days where she can just watch TV and not parse it for subtext.

News Bites

Here are some odds and ends on the internet that caught our eye this week:

What news excited you this week?

Nels
Nels knew how to operate a TV remote control before she knew how to talk. As a result, she has spent an inordinate amount of time pretending she actually lives on a soundstage. When she isn’t watching whichever show is currently capturing her heart, she is writing about how said show is currently capturing her heart. She loves pie.

Fall 2014: What We’re Watching!

It’s hard to believe it, but the 2014-15 TV season is nearly upon us! We here at TYLL thought this would be a great time to talk about what we’re most looking forward to this fall. Join Nels, Cassidy and Lucie as we discuss what we’re tuning into in a few weeks.

Lucie closes out our series with her PVR-worthy picks for this fall! Expect lots of murder and mayhem with a dash of sass. (As if you hadn’t gotten enough of that from Nels and Cassidy‘s picks earlier this week.)

Weekly Roundup April 27-May 2

Weekly Roundup

I admit I haven’t really had time to watch a lot of TV this week — exam week is the worst. Long story short, I’m at last free… So why don’t I give you an even lengthier roundup that includes things I haven’t really watched? Here we go.

… is a young graduate student that has been way too passionate about television ever since she was little. While she insists she doesn’t have a specific type of show, they all usually have strong but flawed lady characters, some derivation of the stubborn friends-in-love/friends-to-lovers trope, and they all make her yell at her tv a lot. She just wishes she had more hours in the day so she could actually write about this.
You can usually find her on Twitter, Tumblr, and at cassidy at thankyoulizlemon.com
