THE X-FILES at New York Comic Con 2015!

THE X-FILES: Moderator Kumail Nanjiani, THE X-FILES Creator/Executive Producer Chris Carter, Cast Member David Duchovny and Cast Member Mitch Pileggi during FOX FANFARE 2015 at New York Comic Con on Saturday, Oct. 10 at Javits Center in New York, NY. CR: Ben Hider/FOX

Are you as excited as we are?

The X-Files is returning to TV in January, almost 14 years after going off the air, and 7 years after the last movie.

Lucky fans got to preview the first episode of the new season at Comic Con this weekend, and as an extra treat, watched a panel hosted by uber-fan and season 10 guest star Kumail Nanjiani. Series creator Chris Carter and stars David Duchovny and Mitch Pileggi were on hand to dish about the revival, and we can’t wait to see the premiere in 2016. (Who’d ever think we’d get to say that again?)

To tide us over, FOX released pictures of the event. We certainly wish we were there, but we can’t wait to talk about the show with fellow Philes in a few months!

Nels knew how to operate a TV remote control before she knew how to talk. As a result, she has spent an inordinate amount of time pretending she actually lives on a soundstage. When she isn’t watching whichever show is currently capturing her heart, she is writing about how said show is currently capturing her heart. She loves pie.

We’re growing! (And looking for new writers!)

Do you have a passion for TV? Can’t wait to talk about your favorite show around the water cooler, even if you don’t actually have a fountain to assemble around? Overcome with feelings for your fictional characters, but nobody quite understands your, er, enthusiasm?

Have we got a deal for you!

THE MINDY PROJECT 3×20 Photo Preview: Orange is the new Mindy?

Mindy Season 3 Cast HQ

I know Mindy hasn’t gotten a lot of airplay here at TYLL since Christmas, but I’m so excited to see Orange is the New Black‘s Laverne Cox guest star this week as Tamra’s cousin Sheena that I couldn’t help sharing the anticipation with you all, too.

As if the show wasn’t name-dropping it all over the place enough as it is, How I Met Your Mother‘s Cristin Milioti (also of the late A to Z fame) also makes an appearance, and Julia Stiles returns as Morgan’s girlfriend Jessica. (Am I the only one who totally forgot Jessica existed?)

Plus, I really want to know what the deal is with this pajama party, so it looks like there’s a lot going on in “What To Expect When You’re Expanding” tomorrow at 9:30pm on FOX.

EMPIRE Season Finale Photo Preview: We can’t wait!

In anticipation of this week’s season finale (already?!), we at TYLL thought it’d be fun to scroll through the episode stills from Wednesday’s double-header, because we can’t wait to see how the Lyons’ empire implodes. Which it is bound to do, if the trailer is any indication. We’ve got drama, intrigue, betrayal, and more guest stars than a Very Special Episode of SNL.

As per FOX’s press release, courtesy of The Futon Critic:

Jamal and Lucious are on their way to forming a music-centered relationship, but once again, Lucious has a secret that’s about to change everything. Hakeem decides to flirt with the enemy, while trying to figure out what the best move is for his career. Meanwhile, Cookie is cooking up a plan of her own in the all-new, special two-hour “Die But Once/Who I Am” Season Finale episode of EMPIRE airing Wednesday, March 18 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

It might be too late for me to recap the episodes I’ve neglected, but I can sure look forward to what’s to come along with all of you! Click ahead for a photo preview of “Die But Once/Who I Am”. They’ve definitely got me curious.

Are you pumped? I sure am!

PALEYFEST LA 2015: Lineup Announced!

If you’re a bit of a TV nerd, like we are, you might have heard of the annual TV festival the Paley Center for Media hosts in Los Angeles every spring (they now have one running in New York in the fall). They are also pretty incredible as they have been live-streaming those panels for the last few years, as well, so if you are not one of the lucky people who can attend them — you have a chance to watch it!

PaleyFest LA 2015 is running from March 6 to March 15 ( in the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, CA. Paley announced three panels last week: one for CBS’ The Good Wife, another one for ABC’s Scandal and a combined one for CW’s Arrow and The Flash.

Moreover, the panels will be also live-streamed via Yahoo Screen, the Paley app and the Yahoo Screen app.

BONES 200th Episode Celebration Photos

038

Are you guys ready for the 200th episode of Bones this week?

We sure are!

Tonight, the cast and crew celebrated the milestone with a fancy shindig in Hollywood, and we here at Thank You Liz Lemon would like to send them our sincere congratulations on the remarkable achievement. We can’t wait to see what they have in store for us!

To tide us all over until then, here’s a sample of some photos taken tonight at the party. Looks like it was a lot of fun! Way to go, guys!

(Does Bones have the best-looking cast on television or what?!)

“The 200th in the 10th” airs Thursday at 8/7c on FOX. Will you be watching? We definitely will be! Tune in afterwards for Cassidy’s always-excellent recap of the episode.

(Cassidy, our resident tech guru, will fix this and add the rest of the pictures tomorrow. Right now, some of us need to get to bed because we are not on PST.)

FRIENDS Coming To Netflix!

Could we be more excited about this?

The video above is a pretty great performance of the iconic theme song, with a special guest. (For those who are curious, it was shot at the Central Perk pop up in NYC last week.)

As per the press release, “Netflix is excited to announce that all 10 seasons, 236 episodes and 83 hours of FRIENDS will be available exclusively on Netflix (both the US and Canadian services) starting January 1, 2015. This marks the first time the iconic series will be available on a streaming subscription service.”

What better way to ring in 2015 than to spend it with Ross, Monica, Chandler, Rachel, Phoebe and Joey, right?

Whether you are a new fan that had been waiting for the show to finally be streamed or an old fan who wants to revisit it (over and over), this is fantastic news.I know I can’t wait to rewatch some of its classic episodes.

FRIENDS is coming to Netflix on January 1, 2015 at midnight Pacific time.

BIG BROTHER Renewed!

If you’re a fan of Big Brother, you just kissed three nights of your summer weeks goodbye.

Just before tonight’s 90-minute finale, CBS announced that Big Brother has been picked up for two more seasons -17 and 18 – that will air in the summers of 2015 and 2016. The show, which premiered in 2000 and is hosted by Julie Chen, has been up both on viewers and the demos this year.

Similarly, Big Brother: After Dark has also been renewed for another season that will air in POP (currently TVGN).

Are you excited about these news? Are you going to watch tonight’s finale? If so, who are you rooting for to take it all?

IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY is taking over FOX!

Courtesy FXX

Well, kind of.

I admit I’ve been out of the loop on recent casting news. So imagine my surprise — and delight! — to see that we’re getting not one, but three members of the gang from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia guest starring in two of FOX’s Tuesday night staples  in September!

First, Rob McElhenny has a spot on The Mindy Project as Morgan’s (Ike Barinholtz) cousin Lou in the season premiere tonight at 9:30pm. Look familiar to you?

THE MINDY PROJECT: Morgan (Ike Barinholtz, L) sets his cousin Lou (guest star Rob McElhenney, R) up with a job in the office in the "We're A Couple Now, Haters" season premiere episode of THE MINDY PROJECT airing Tuesday, Sept. 16 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. ©2014 Fox Broadcasting Co. Then two weeks later on September 30, Glenn Howerton reprises his role as lawyer (and past love interest) Cliff. Mindy asks Cliff for help with her taxes — how is that going to work out with new love interest Danny (Chris Messina)?

Meanwhile, Kaitlin Olson visits New Girl on September 30 at 9pm as Jess’s father’s (Rob Reiner) new girlfriend. Talk about awkward!
