The Americans Season 4 definitely isn’t pulling any punches, taking more twists and turns than a couple of KGB agents evading FBI surveillance in 1980s Washington, D.C. The world is definitely closing in for More »
This is way overdue. We know, we know. The fact two episodes aired the same night, coupled with exams, made uploading this recap difficult. Add in Christmas travels (and the holiday itself), More »
The Fall TV season is back (and so are we!), and first up at bat here at TYLL is the new baseball-themed drama Pitch on FOX. This series’ curveball? It centers around a promising young pitcher — who happens to be a woman. The pressure reaches a fever pitch, leaving everyone wondering if Ginny Baker is nothing but a flash in a pan. Can the rookie series hit a home run? (And could I use any more baseball analogies in this article so far?)
Ominous! If that episode title doesn’t raise your alarms, then the following Bones 11×22 stills for the season finale might.
As you can read in the press release, the team attempt to find “The Puppeteer,” the serial killer we were introduced to this season that lived with his victims before disposing of them. At the same time, Brennan is dealing with the guilt over her retirement last season finale, blaming herself for not stopping him much earlier. Little does she know, she might be in trouble herself. (Which that bone-chilling cliffhanger Bones 11×13 ended on hinted at…) Also, as you can see in the stills below, Max is back! And so is Christine.

We’ve had the promo for as long as we’d had the press release, but now it’s time to see the stills!
FOX has released the Bones 11×21 stills for penultimate episode of the season, “The Jewel in the Crown.” As the promo and the press release hinted at, the team investigates a murder over a diamond when a body was found with one lodged in its jaw. French inspector Rosseau (played by Sebastian Roche) approaches the team with an accusation against the Marquis De Chaussin (played by Gilles Marini) — the victim’s husband, who lives in Virginia. Elsewhere, Booth discovers he suffers a temporary eye illness (hence, those glasses in the promo), and Hodgins thinks he’s being followed by a ghost. Plus, Daisy’s back!

In “The Stiff in the Cliff,” airing on June 23, the team must solve a murder to protect one of their own. Which one? Thanks to the Bones 11×20 stills, you’ll find that out soon enough!
Per the press release, the team has to determine whether the death of famous billionaire Henry Charles (whose remains were just found in Antarctica) was murder or not. When (spoiler alert!) it’s confirmed he was killed on an expedition ten years prior, Clark is in the suspect shortlist, as he was also a member of the expedition. Elsewhere, Felicia Saroyan (now played by Raney Branch) comes into town to help her sister with the wedding planning, making some old family friction resurface.
The squintern of the week is Wendell, and Christine will also make an appearance.

After a week off (next week), Bones will return to our screens on June 16 with “The Head in the Abutment.” To make that wait more bearable, here are the Bones 11×19 stills and synopsis.
Per the press release, the headless body of a popular hockey player is dumped in the river, and the team is called to investigate. As Booth and Aubrey question the coach (played by former NHL player Jeremy Roenick), Booth’s depth of knowledge about hockey becomes quite integral to solving the case. Moreover, he’s reunited with a rival from his past — putting him back into the ice once again to face off against him. Elsewhere, Hodgins and returning squintern Oliver have a competition to retrieve the missing head when Hodgins builds two drones, and Booth and Brennan attempt to declutter their home. (Link)

Michael Peterson and the other writers have described “The Movie in the Making” as a mix of Modern Family and Making a Murderer. If you caught a glimpse of the promo that aired after last week’s really solid episode, you had seen what they meant… If not, you can also see that in the Bones 11×18 stills below.
According to the press release, a documentary crew producing a tv segment on the Jeffersonian follows the team during a “typical” case (body found in a landfill, buried more than a decade ago). The camera crew captures normally unseen footage of the team at work, while the team provides some candid commentary providing some unique insight into the case as Brennan and co. prove their expertise and importance to the case, while Booth and Aubrey show their skills on the field.
You can check the rest here. Arastoo is this week’s intern, and Christine also makes an appearance. For the Bones 11×18 stills, click through!
The Bones 11×17 stills are out! We apologize for the delay in getting them up.
“The Secret in the Service,” airing on May 26, deals with the murder of a secret service agent just before a presidential visit to the area where the body is discovered. Booth then turns to friend and former colleague (turned Secret Service agent) Brandt Walker for information, but is surprised when he learns of the Secret Service’s reservations about him working the case. Once the team uncovers some shocking evidence that underline the seriousness of the case, Booth steps up for his country. Meanwhile, Brennan is out, sick with the flu, so Dr. Fisher returns to the Jeffersonian to run the lead on the case, but this is Brennan: she refuses to be out of the loop. Also, Hodgins decides to take his life into his own hands and ‘turns a corner after a potentially dangerous experiment.’ For the entire press release, click here.

And here they are — the Bones 11×15 stills!
Airing on May 12th, “The Fight in the Fixer” deals with the murder of a private investigator, whose body was found frozen in ice after being dumped in the Potomac. The victim was a man with many enemies, probably a result of his work as a “fixer,” who made sure his clients’ problems got “resolved.” (I don’t know about you, but fixer makes me think of Scandal‘s Olivia Pope. Is the victim one of her Gladiators?)
Elsewhere, Aubrey is shocked to find information relating to his father’s whereabouts and gets asked on a date by returning guest star Sara Rue (as criminal behaviorist Karen Defts, who will be back for this week’s episode as well!), Booth and Brennan get Christine’s first report card, and Angela and Hodgins continue to work on their rocky relationship. (And Wells is also back!)

Welcome back, Bones!
It is strange that the show is returning just as May Sweeps (the traditional end to the television season) are about to start. It’s even crazier to think that the show will be running until late July, too.
It’s been a bit over four months since we last saw our favorite squints, but only eight weeks have passed in Bones time. After the shocking ending to the midseason finale, the spring premiere opens with Hodgins being discharged from the hospital. He’s jarringly happy and hopeful — basically, in perfect denial.
The episode went all in with showing us Hodgins’ current struggle, and it shone a light into his and Angela’s relationship. I especially liked the storyline was not put into the background, rather than have it be in the backburner. It is such a big event in the characters’ lives, and it would have been a disservice to just focus on some other trivial thing. This is a show that prides itself in having such great actors with developed characters, and that is definitely felt here: as the close family they are, every character has a very distinct and emotional reaction to Hodgins’ condition.
So, let’s discuss that, and other things that went down on Bones 11×11, “The Death in the Defense”…
